Salamander Park is situated 30kms South East of Euroa at the base of the Strathbogie Ranges. Our 145 acre farm is divided by the Merton Creek which in turn is a tributary of the Goulburn River. This provides us access to a quality water resource all year round.

Salamander Park is a new farm that has been built to care for the horse first and foremost. Horse care, whether this is nutrition or the best of veterinary care as and when required, is of utmost importance to us.

Our mission is to create quality thoroughbreds that perform at the highest level. We will do that by providing the very best care for our horses, but also by providing the very best advice to our clients.

Being a young farm we already have horses that we have bred with trainers of the calibre of Peter Moody, Lee Freedman, Bill and Simon Wilde, Shane Nichols in Victoria and Tony and Con Karakatsanis in New South Wales.

We breed very nice thoroughbreds and we will continue in the same vain going forward.

Standing Keano for the inaugural 2011 breeding season is exciting for us as Keano was a quality racehorse winning 6 times in a career of 27 starts with the Listed Lightning Handicap over 1000m at Eagle Farm being his stakes win. Not only that he was 2nd in Listed Sir John Monash Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield, 3rd in the Gr.3 WJ Healy Stakes over 1200m at Eagle Farm, 5th in the Gr.1 Telegraph Handicap over 1200m in Wellington (NZ), 5th in the Gr.2 Alister Clark Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley and 5th in the Gr.3 C.S. Hayes Stakes over 1400m at Flemington.

Keano’s last victory was on Emirates Stakes Day during the Melbourne Spring Carnival on November 6 2010 when he won the $125,000 Emirates Airline Handicap over 1400m at Flemington.

In 16 of his 27 races Keano was pitted against the best sprinters in the land at Group and Listed level . We hope that you avail yourselves of his services for the upcoming season.
